Local Amenities
THE SURROUNDING AREA
Trévenec is a small, picturesque hamlet right in the centre of Brittany, not far from Carhaix-Plouguer. The property is situated in a quiet, rural area, the last of two cottages in a small lane with virtually no passing traffic, bounded by fields with open views to the front. It is ideal for a relaxing holiday or short break, only 1 hours drive from the ferry port of Roscoff and approximately 2 hours drive from St Malo.
Nearby is the Nantes to Brest Canal and there are woodland walks, numerous lakes providing fishing, swimming, wind surfing etc. Lac de Guerledan is excellent for all water sports and mountain bike hire and boat trips are available plus a restaurant.
There is a compact golf course close by and several other golf courses in the region. Huelgoat has an open air swimming pool and historic large granite tourist attraction, 'the trembling rock', plus lots of bars/creperies. This area is renowned for myths and legends. Numerous Breton fetes are held throughout the summer months in most towns/villages.
The beaches of the north, south and west coasts of Brittany are approximately one hours drive away.
